The HobbyStar Affront 220A is the high-current competition ESC in this group, built for 2-4S 1/8 on-road, off-road, and truggy racing. It supports sensored and sensorless modes, is rated for 220A continuous current and 1000A burst current, and uses a 32-bit MCU with built-in Bluetooth for mobile-app setup.
This is the one for race-style 4S builds where current headroom and throttle tuning matter more than 6S monster-truck voltage. The ESC supports enhanced throttle response, acceleration, linearity, real-time data logging, and firmware upgrades, so setup changes happen from the phone instead of from a tiny button dance with questionable dignity.
The switchable BEC is rated at 6.0V or 7.4V at 6A, giving flexibility for standard or HV-compatible receiver/servo setups. It is splashproof and dustproof, but not waterproof, so do not use it as a wet-bashing or submerged-vehicle ESC.
