If your 1/10 race car feels like the throttle is being translated through a committee, the ESC is usually suspect number one. The HOBBYWING XERUN XR10 Pro G2S Elite 160A sensored brushless ESC is made for drivers who want cleaner throttle response, stronger brake tuning, and more useful setup control in a compact 2S racing package.

This Elite G2S unit is rated for 160A continuous and 1200A peak current, with support for sensored and sensorless brushless motors. It fits the serious 1/10 crowd - touring car, buggy racing, drift, and F1 - and HOBBYWING recommends 4.5T or higher motors for touring and 5.5T or higher for buggy. In other words, check your class rules before you let the timing settings form a tiny weather system.

We like the practical details here: 13 AWG 200mm wires, a 37.5x30.9x32.5mm case with fan, adjustable 5-7.4V BEC, LCD program box and OTA programmer support, firmware upgrade support, and data logging when used with the proper HOBBYWING setup gear. The Elite version uses a normal framed fan rather than the Stealth version's frameless fan, and it is not waterproof. No pre-installed connectors, because apparently soldering irons still need hobbies too.

The HobbyStar Affront 220A is the high-current competition ESC in this group, built for 2-4S 1/8 on-road, off-road, and truggy racing. It supports sensored and sensorless modes, is rated for 220A continuous current and 1000A burst current, and uses a 32-bit MCU with built-in Bluetooth for mobile-app setup.

This is the one for race-style 4S builds where current headroom and throttle tuning matter more than 6S monster-truck voltage. The ESC supports enhanced throttle response, acceleration, linearity, real-time data logging, and firmware upgrades, so setup changes happen from the phone instead of from a tiny button dance with questionable dignity.

The switchable BEC is rated at 6.0V or 7.4V at 6A, giving flexibility for standard or HV-compatible receiver/servo setups. It is splashproof and dustproof, but not waterproof, so do not use it as a wet-bashing or submerged-vehicle ESC.

The HobbyStar Affront 150A is the competition-style sensored ESC for 1/8 trucks and monster trucks that need 2-6S power and more tuning control than a basic basher ESC. It supports sensored and sensorless modes, is rated for 150A continuous current and 950A burst current, and uses a 32-bit MCU with built-in Bluetooth for mobile-app setup.

This one is about drivability. The specs call out enhanced throttle response, acceleration, linearity, real-time data logging, firmware upgrade support, and mobile phone app programming. In less brochure-shaped English: you get more knobs to turn, and fewer reasons to keep pretending one default punch setting fits every truck.

The switchable BEC is rated at 6.0V or 7.4V at 6A, so it can feed standard or HV-compatible receiver/servo setups when selected correctly. The ESC is splashproof and dustproof, but not waterproof, so keep it out of full wet-submersion duty.

The SKYRC Toro TS120 Competition ESC features a new anodized aluminum case and a low internal resistance of <0.0003 ohm. Smooth and precise throttle response combined with braking performance ideal for 1/10th scale competition. With 10 user defined power profiles available and Advance Timing System (ATS) for "Boost" and "Turbo" profiles both provide unique power curves suited for running in non-spec stock or modified classes.

Blinky mode (zero timing) profile is available for organized spec class racing.

New aluminum casing improves cooling efficiency while providing a works appearance.  The TS120 features an onboard switch design. No more external wired switches means racers no longer need to worry about switch placement and finding room on today’s high performance racing chassis’.

Available program box is available for adjusting the ESC without the need for a computer or laptop at the track allowing racers to change ESC profiles, adjust ESC settings, test PPM signal between transmitter and receiver, verify servo performance, motor KV / RPM performance and LiPo battery monitor functions on the LCD screen through the on-board RX plug, motor sensor, LiPo balancer, and USB ports (program box sold separately).

Can also be programmed via SkyLink and WiFi Module.

NOTE: This ESC is designed for use in 1/10 2WD buggies, 2WD SCT's, 2WD stadium trucks and 1/10 4WD buggies with 540 2-pole motors. NOT FOR USE IN 4WD SHORT COURSE TRUCKS.  NOT FOR USE WITH 4-POLE MOTORS, AND ALTHOUGH SPECS LIST 3S COMPATABILITY, MOTOR TURN LIMITS MUST BE ADHERED TO WHEN RUNNING 3S OR ESC DAMAGE MAY RESULT.  3S USE IS NOT RECOMMENDED WITH THIS CATEGORY OF ESC.

Racers buy an ESC because they want the car to respond the way they intend, not the way some mystery box in the chassis happens to feel that day. The SKYRC Toro TS160-PRO V2 gives you a serious tuning platform for 1/10 setups, with control over the things drivers actually adjust - throttle response, brake force, punch, and timing behavior. Run it mild and legal for the class, or open up the tuning where the rules allow it. Either way, the point is control.

TS160-PRO V2 is rated at 160A continuous and 850A peak, supports sensored and sensorless brushless motors, and runs on 2-3S LiPo or 6-9S NiMH. It is intended for 1/10 touring cars, 1/10 buggies, and 1/10 crawlers, with motor recommendations of 4.5T and up for touring and 5.5T and up for buggy. For normal 1/8 buggy or truggy use, this is not the ESC to pretend is "probably fine" unless you enjoy troubleshooting smoke.

V2 also brings practical pit-table updates. Programming is handled through the RC Gears app when used with the optional SKYRC Bluetooth dongle, and the V2 update adds a Type-C Bluetooth interface plus an external push-button switch. The built-in BEC is rated up to 15A and can be set to 6.0V or 7.4V, giving modern standard and HV servos the power they need without adding more clutter to the car.

The aluminum case and cooling fan help manage heat under load, while built-in protections cover overvoltage, low voltage, motor stall, and over temperature conditions. Size is 39x38x19mm, weight is 97g, and yes, it has Boost/Turbo timing adjustment - useful where allowed, and something to keep set correctly where the rulebook says "no funny business."

The HobbyStar V3 160A is the higher-current 1/8 ESC in this Supersonic V2-style group. If you want more headroom than the 130A version for a heavier 1/8 build, this is the one to look at first: 160A continuous current, 1080A burst current, 3-6S LiPo support, IP67 waterproof design, dual XT90 battery plugs, and a compact aluminum heat-sink case.

The motor guideline steps up from 40xx-size to 42xx-size or smaller sensorless motors, which makes this the better fit for bigger 1/8 bashing and monster-truck setups. It still wants sensible gearing and motor KV, especially on 6S. More amps are helpful; they do not repeal thermodynamics, sadly.

The built-in BEC is switchable between 6.0V, 7.4V, and 8.4V at 6A, so you can feed standard or HV receiver/servo setups when the rest of the electronics support it. The ESC also includes motor overheat protection and the usual programmable surface ESC settings for throttle, cutoff, start/punch, brake, reverse, and thermal behavior.

Quick specs:

• Type: Waterproof sensorless brushless ESC
• Recommended scale/use: 1/8 RC cars, trucks, buggies, monster trucks, and compatible surface builds
• Continuous current: 160A
• Burst current: 1080A

If your 1/8 car or truck needs a real 3-6S ESC without jumping straight into premium-brand money, the HobbyStar V3 130A is the sensible value pick. It is a sensorless brushless ESC rated for 130A continuous current and 860A burst current, with an IP67 waterproof design, aluminum heat-sink case, replaceable cooling fan, XT60 battery plug, and motor overheat protection.

The 130A is the lighter 1/8 option in this group. It is meant for 40xx-size or smaller sensorless motors, with lower KV limits for 6S and off-road/monster-truck use. For bashing, builders, and budget 1/8 projects, that is a useful lane: enough ESC for sane 1/8 setups, without paying for features you may never use.

The switchable BEC can output 6.0V, 7.4V, or 8.4V at 6A, so it can support standard or HV receiver/servo setups when the rest of the electronics are compatible. The SkyRC FuriaX Supa Combo pairs the FuriaX Supa 60A brushless ESC with the FuriaX Supa 3650 sensorless brushless motor to form a matched 1/10 scale brushless system. It is aimed at drivers upgrading from brushed systems or basic RTR electronics in buggies, touring cars, short course trucks and drift chassis who want a reliable brushless combo without a complicated setup.

With KV options from around 2300kV up to 5400kV (depending on version), you can choose the combo suitable for your needs - either more torque or more speed: lower KV for heavier 1/10 trucks and off-road rigs like an Arrma Granite, higher KV for on-road and club-race builds based on platforms such as a Traxxas Slash or Losi 22. The system runs on 2-3S LiPo or 6–9 cell NiMH packs, so it drops neatly into most 1/10 RC car and truck layouts.

FuriaX Supa 60A Brushless ESC

The FuriaX Supa 60A ESC is the control side of the combo. It is rated at 60A continuous and up to 360A burst, and supports both sensored and sensorless brushless motors, though the included motor is sensorless. It is intended for 1/10 touring cars, buggies and short course trucks on 2–3S LiPo or 6–9S NiMH packs, with a compact footprint (about 48×38×38.5mm including fan) and a weight of roughly 100g so it will not upset the handling of most chassis.

Programming is done through SKYRC's RC Gears app on your phone, so you do not need a separate program box. From there you can set running mode (forward/brake, forward/brake/reverse, forward/reverse), drag brake, punch, maximum forward and reverse power, throttle neutral range, LiPo cutoff voltage, BEC output (6.0V or 7.4V), thermal cutoff level and motor pole setting. Cooling is handled by the integrated heatsink and fan, with airflow being the main requirement during installation.

• Current rating: 60A continuous / 360A burst
• Battery support: 2–3S LiPo or 6–9 cell NiMH
• Motor support: sensored or sensorless brushless motors for 1/10 applications
• Built-in BEC: selectable 6.0V or 7.4V for receivers and servos
• Configurable running mode, punch, drag brake, brake strength and reverse strength
• Adjustable LiPo cutoff, thermal protection and motor pole count
• Protection functions for low voltage, overheating and motor lock/stall conditions
• Approx. size and weight: 48×38×38.5mm with fan, about 100g

FuriaX Supa 3650 Brushless Motor

The FuriaX Supa 3650 is a 36×50mm 4-pole, 12-slot sensorless brushless motor built for 1/10 scale vehicles. Compared to a typical 2-pole 540-size motor, the 4-pole design produces more torque and smoother power delivery, which helps with controlled launches, steadier climbs and better throttle resolution on both dirt and pavement. Depending on the KV version, it is suitable for mixed-use buggies and trucks on 2S, or for higher-speed on-road setups on 2–3S.

Internally, the motor uses 0.2mm stator laminations, a 6061-T6 aluminum can, high-purity copper windings rated for high temperatures and sintered neodymium magnets rated to around 200°C. Pre-soldered 4.0mm gold-plated bullet connectors and color-coded ABC phase wires simplify wiring. The rotor is removable, which makes cleaning, bearing checks and any performance tuning more straightforward. It is designed to cope with dust and splashes encountered in normal off-road and car-park running, rather than being a fragile race-only part.

• Size: approx. 36mm diameter × 50mm length (3650 format)
• Design: 4-pole, 12-slot brushless sensorless
• KV options: commonly 2300kV, 3100kV, 3600kV, 4000kV and 5400kV, depending on the specific combo
• Battery rating (motor): up to 1–3S LiPo; the combo as a whole is used on 2–3S LiPo as limited by the ESC
• Construction: 0.2mm stator laminations, 6061-T6 can, high-temp copper windings and neodymium magnets
• Connectors: factory-installed 4.0mm gold bullets with ABC phase wiring
• Maintenance: removable rotor for easier cleaning and service
• Approximate weight: around 150g depending on KV version

Typical applications and compatibility

This combo is aimed at 1/10 hobby-grade RC cars where a driver wants a sensible brushless upgrade or replacement system. Typical use includes 2WD and 4WD buggies, touring cars, drift builds and short course trucks. It is a good fit for brushless conversions or electronics upgrades in vehicles like:

• Traxxas Slash, Rustler, Bandit, Stampede and similar 1/10 platforms
• Arrma Granite and other 2–3S 1/10 trucks when set up with appropriate gearing
• Tamiya TT-02 and similar touring chassis as a brushless conversion from the stock 540 motor
• Losi and Team Associated 1/10 buggies or short course trucks used for club racing or track days

If you are searching for an affordable 1/10 brushless combo, a 60A ESC and 3650 motor system for a brushless conversion, or a straightforward ESC + motor upgrade for a Traxxas, Arrma, Tamiya or similar 1/10 RC car, the FuriaX Supa Combo offers a practical option. It combines app-configurable ESC settings, sensible protections and a modern 4-pole motor in a package that installs easily and delivers predictable power from the first run.

Small RC cars deserve better than electronics that act brave for three laps and then start reconsidering their life choices. The HobbyStar TS80A is a compact 80A sensored brushless ESC built for 380/390 motor setups, giving 1/14 and small-scale race cars the smooth throttle control and tuning range they need without stuffing a giant 1/8-scale brick into the chassis.

It runs on 2S LiPo power with an 80A continuous and 160A peak current rating, plus a built-in 3A/6V BEC for clean receiver and servo power. The aluminum case, machined heatsink, and high-speed cooling fan help keep temperatures under control, which is useful when the car is small, the gearing is optimistic, and the driver has opinions.

The TS80A supports sensored 380/390/540 brushless motors, with motor limits of 10.5T and higher turn-count for 380/390 motors and 13.5T and higher turn-count for 540 motors. It includes an XT60 battery connector installed, factory preset Forward/Brake operation, programmable reverse, boost/turbo timing, blinky mode, and setup through an optional LED program card.

If your 1/10 car or truck has outgrown the little RTR ESC it came with, the HobbyStar V3 110A gives you a much more serious 2-4S sensorless setup without wandering into premium-brand pricing. It is rated for 110A continuous current and 520A burst current, with an IP67 waterproof design, aluminum heat-sink case, replaceable cooling fan, and motor overheat protection.

The useful part is the headroom. This ESC is built around 3670-size or smaller sensorless motors, and the are separate motor KV limits for 2S, 3S, and 4S on-road versus off-road/buggy/monster setups. In plain English: it is a strong 1/10 bashing and builder ESC, but gearing and motor KV still matter. Physics remains annoyingly undefeated.

The built-in BEC is switchable between 6.0V, 7.4V, and 8.4V at 6A, so it can run standard receiver electronics or HV steering gear when the rest of the setup supports it. Programming support covers the normal surface ESC settings, including throttle range, low-voltage protection, start/punch behavior, and thermal protections.

Quick specs:

The HobbyStar V3 130A Sensored ESC is for small sensored builds where throttle feel matters more than pretending every ESC belongs in a monster truck. It is rated for 130A continuous current and 240A peak current, with support for 380, 390, and 540 sensored brushless motors down to a 5.5T motor limit.

This is a compact race-style ESC with a 44.5x39.5x31mm case, efficient heat-dissipating aluminum heat sink, removable cooling fan, separate programming connector, and motor/ESC overheating protection. The 6V/5A BEC gives solid power for standard receiver and servo electronics without turning the wiring harness into a philosophy problem.

Pay attention to the 6V-11V input range. That makes this a good fit for compatible low-voltage sensored setups, but it should not be treated as a generic 3S LiPo ESC. Match the pack, motor wind, gearing, and cooling to the spec instead of asking the magic smoke to file a complaint.
